Ingredients
- 1/4 cup onions, diced
- 1 1/2 teaspoons canola oil
- Pinch ground cloves
- Pinch black pepper
- 1 bay leaf
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 3 cups 2 percent milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Preparation
Step 1
Sauté the onion in oil until translucent. Add cloves, black pepper and bay leaf. Continue to sauté over low heat for 1 more minute. In a large bowl, mix cornstarch and milk with a wire whisk. Add to the sautéed mixture and bring to a simmer. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes until thickened. Add salt.
