Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ¼ teaspoon ground oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red chilis
  • 6 whole wheat hamburger buns
  • 6 slices lowfat cheddar cheese
  • chopped cilantro
  • sliced tomatoes
  • sliced red onions
  • shredded lettuce

Preparation

Step 1

Gently mix together ground turkey and seasonings, shape into 6 burgers about 3/4-inch in thickness. Broil under a broiler and immediately cheese slice (after blotting burgers with paper towels to obliterate the extra grease--ew!) serve on whole wheat buns with the rest of the stuff--cilantro, etc. and enjoy!

SERVING SUGGESTIONS: Some baked tortilla chips and a big spinach salad and you're all set!

VEGETARIANS: Substitute frozen veggie burgers and use the seasonings and proceed!
