  • Serves 10 ish.
  • 5 ish pounds of regular potatoes
  • 1 ish cups sour cream
  • 1 cube of butter
  • Potato water
  • Garlic salt
  • Pepper
  • Baking Powder

Step 1

Cut potatoes in 3rds or halves to be equal in size on the small side. Boil in salted water until point of knife slides in easily. Drain the water and reserve the last cupish. Mash potatoes or rice. Add butter in tablespoon sized chunks and mash until butter is pretty well melted. Add sour cream, garlic salt, and pepper and beat until smooth with an electric mixer. Add potato water to the consistency you want. At the end sprinkle with less than 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder and whip through the potatoes. They will hold for a while in a crockpot. Too long and they will brown where they are close to the heat.
