Chocolate Marbled Brownies

  • Cream Cheese Filling:
  • Beat one 250gm pkg softened cream cheese. Gradually beat in 1/2 c. sugar, 1 egg and 1/2 tsp. vanilla till smooth.
  • Cake Batter:
  • 2/3 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. cocoa
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 tsp. vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Melt butter in medium saucepan. Remove from heat. Stir in cocoa. (Note: Allow to cool a bit before beating in the egg. ) Beat in sugar, eggs and vanilla. Blend in dry ingedients. Pour half the batter into a greased 9" baking pan. Carefully spread cream cheese filling on top. Spoon remaining choc batter over filling. Pull a knife through both batters to create a marble effect. Bake at 350 40 - 45 minutes
