Fruit Dessert

Ingredients

  • 3-4 cups peaches, apples rhubarb OR cherries
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3 Tbsp oleo
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Topping
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 Tbsp corn starch
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • butter
  • 1 cup boiling water

Preparation

Step 1

In an 8X8 pan, layer fruit.

In a bowl, cream sugar and oleo. Add milk and stir. Add flour, baking powder and salt. Spread over fruit and press a little.

In a small bowl, mix sugar, corn starch, and salt. Sprinkle over batter. Dot top with butter and pour boiling water over all.

Bake at 375 for 1/2 to 1 hour.
