Ingredients
- Ham & Cheese Filling:
- 3 1/2 to 4 cups flour
- 2 tsp. salt
- 2 1/2 tsp. yeast
- 1 1/4 cups very warm water
- 1 egg white slightly beaten
- 1 Tbl cold water
- 3 Tbl sesame seeds
- 4 cups diced ham shredded Swiss cheese
- 2 cups lettuce or sprouts 1 can sliced olives (tomatoes)
- Chicken Salad Filling:
- 4 cups chicken 1 1/2 Tbl lemon juice
- 1 cup diced celery 8 oz. pineapple chunks
- 1 tsp. minced onions 1 pkg. slivered almonds
- Mix and then add salad dressing
Preparation
Step 1
Combine 1 cup flour, salt and undissolved yeast in large bowl. Gradually add water to dry ingredients and beat 2 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally. Gradually add additional flour to make a stiff dough. Knead the dough until it forms a fall and cleans the sides and bottom of bowl. Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces. On a lightly floured board, roll each piece into a 5-inch circle. Place circles on greased baking sheets. Cover and let rise 45 minutes. Turn circles, bottom sides up, on greased baking sheets. Blend egg white and cold water. Brush mixture on top of each circle and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake at 500 for 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from baking sheets and cool on wire racks. Cut off 1 inch of the circle and fill with filling.
