Ingredients
- DOUGH:
- 1 3/4 CUP FLOUR
- 1/4 CUP SUGAR
- 1 TSP CINNAMON
- 3/4 TSP SALT
- 1 STICK AND 3 TBSP UNSALTED BUTTER, CHILLED
- 1/4 CUP APPLE CIDER
- FILLING:
- 6 LARGE MCINTOSCH APPLES, PEELED AND SLICED ~8 CUPS
- 1 2/3 CUPS SOUR CREAM
- 1 CUP SUGAR
- 1 LARGE EGG
- 1/3 CUP FLOUR
- 2 TSP VANILLA
- 1/2 TSP SALT
- 1 CUP WALNUTS
- 1/2 CUP FLOUR
- 1 STICK UNSLATED BUTTER, SOFTENED
- 1/3 CUP SUGAR
- 1/3 CUP DARK BROWN SUGAR
- A PINCH OF SALT

Step 1
In a food processor, blend FLOUR, SUGAR, CINNAMON, SALT, and BUTTER cut into bits until mixture resembles meal. Transfer to a bowl.
Add APPLE CIDER and combine to form dough. Shape into a ball and chill for 1 hour.
In a large bowl mix APPLES, SOUR CREAM, SUGAR, EGG, FLOUR, VANILLA, SALT.
On a floured surface, roll the dough into a 12” round. Fit into pie plate.
Spoon filling into shell and bake at 450 FOR 10 MINUTES. REDUCE to350 and bake for 35 minutes more.
In a bowl combine remaining ingredients until the mixture is crumbly.
Mash the apple filling lightly with a fork
Sprinkle mixture over filling and bake for 15 minutes.
Let cool on rack.
