Broiled Buffalo Wings
By devogirl
“When you boil the wings, most of the fat from the skin ends up in the water, says Ellie Krieger, chef and TV host. “More fat drips off during broiling.”
Ingredients
- 2 lbs chicken wings
- 1/4 cayenne pepper sauce (like Frank’s Red Hot)
- 1 T freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 3 T low sodium chicken broth
- 3 large celery stalks, cut into sticks
Preparation
Step 1
1. Preheat the broiler. Place wings in a large pot and fill with water to cover by about 2 inches. Bring to a boil; continue boiling for 10 minutes. Drain.
2. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine cayenne pepper sauce, lemon juice, and chicken broth.
3. Transfer wings to a broiler pan and broil, 5-6 inches from the flame, until skin begins to blister and brown, 5-6 minutes. Turn wings over and broil 4-5 minutes more.
4. Transfer wings to a baking sheet and drizzle with reserved sauce and toss well to coat. Place baking sheet under broiler 1 minute to heat wings and sauce. Serve with celery sticks.
