Ingredients
- 1 loaf French bread
- 1 cup butter, melted
- 2 Tbl. minced onion
- 1 Tbl. poppy seeds
- 1 tsp. seasoned salt
- 1 Tbl. dry mustard
- 1 Tbl lemon juice
- 1 can (4 oz) mushrooms
- 1 Tbl. butter
- 16 ounces Swiss Cheese, shredded
Preparation
Step 1
Cut bread diagonally on each side, so it is criss-crossed with "x's" down the entire loaf.** Mix together melted butter, minced onion, poppy seeds seasoned salt, dry mustard and lemon juice. Pour mixture in between "x's" on bread. Chop mushrooms, saute them in butter, and stuff in slots. Sprinkle cheese in between slices as well. Wrap up tightly in foil on a cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 40-60 minutes.
** To cut bread, place bread horizontally on counter and make slices left to right down to the end of the loaf( being careful not to cut through to the bottom0. Then cut from right to left down to the other end of the loaf. The end result should be "x's" down the entire loaf.
