HAMBURGER STUFFED BREAD

Ingredients

  • 1 (1 lb.) loaf of un-sliced, white bread (round)
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 2 tbsp. oil
  • 1 green pepper diced
  • 1/2 cup diced celery
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. ground pepper
  • 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 (11 oz.) can condensed cheddar cheese soup
  • 2 slices of cheddar cheese

Preparation

Step 1

Cut top off bread and hollow out, forming a bowl or crust shell. Tear enough into small pieces to make 2 cups and reserve.
Brown hamburger in oil; mix in remaining ingredients except cheese slices. Simmer 4 to 5 minutes. Mix in bread pieces and fill crust.

Cut cheese slices diagonally and place on top. Bake on a cookie sheet in preheated oven at 350deg. For 8 to 10 minutes or until cheese melts: Replace top of bread loaf and serve cut into pie shape pieces.
