This made me surprised! When I saw the picture at foodgawker, I thought it was a kind of filling soup with grains in it. Reading the post, I understand I was wrong. I came across with something even better! Never thought of pairing tortilla chips with apple dip, great idea! This absolutely would cheer me up!

I love this recipe! I was just telling my hubby I want to make a fun apple dip, and then I find your blog post! I think it sounds so lovely, and would be a great compliment to some creamy Greek yogurt, YUM! Take care, Terra
Wow what a different way to enjoy tortillas. I never knew this can be sweet always have them savoury, this is worth a try.
I bet you could use Stacy’s pita chips that are already cinnamon sugar flavored! Yum
Just tried this recipe….yummy, but one question….my chips were not crispy! Any advice? Thanks!
The tortillas won’t get crispy if you brushed them with too much butter. Just a little butter will do, just enough for the sugar and the cinnamon to stick to it.
Thanks for dropping by…
Oh how yummy! Such a fun twist on chips and dip!

What kind of apples are best for this? Just any kind? I would imagine red delicious would get too soggy.
Hi Kelly,
I used Fuji Apples. It had some crunch into it even after it was cooked.
Thanks for dropping by.
These would be great if you cut pie crusts into wedges and used them as the chips!
I think so too! That’s a great idea… Thanks kimmi and Thanks for dropping by…

I’m wanting to make this for a church ladies’ bunco night. Approximately how many would this serve? Sounds delicious!
Hi Christi, Thanks for dropping by and this is delicious! If you are serving this as appetizer, this would serve 8-10 persons but if it’s like a snack, this is good for 6-8 persons only.

I made this for my 3 year-old daughter’s preschool class and the kids loved it. I made the adjustment of mixing & heating melted butter, brown sugar and cornstarch together. I wanted it to be a bit stickier so the kids could dip it easier. Worked like a charm and still tasted fantastic. Thanks for this!

I made this today so it would be ready for New Years Day. It looks like I’ll have to make another double batch since we can’t stop eating it.
Just found this on Pinterest and made it. YUM!!! I was making it to take to my nutrition class, but it looks like I’m going to have to make another batch. Thanks for a great recipe.
awww..you’re welcome, Julie.
Delish! Any clue where I can find one of those apple dip bowls?! It’s beautiful!
Can this be made ahead of time? Like the night before?
Yup and you can also serve it cold. Warm or cold, it’s delicious!
Just made these tonight for company tomorrow. The kids went crazy for it and were stealing the chips (I used tortillas because I didn’t have pita bread). My DH said “Oh Wow!” when he tasted it all. That’s high praise! Thank so much for posting the recipe. I’m sure our company will love it!
aww, you’re very welcome and thank you so much for loving the recipe.
This dip is great, and tt also makes the best vanilla ice cream topping!!
Great recipe – big hit at the party we made it for. For the benefit of others – I think the issue with chips that didn’t get crispy is possibly that they weren’t paying attention to 210 degrees celsius = 375 degrees fahrenheit. My husband figured this out when ours weren’t getting brown (I had set the oven to 210 degrees fahrenheit). ooops – I need to pay more attention to the recipes. ) Also – we used granny smith apples so I added a couple extra tablespoons of brown sugar to make the dip a little sweeter – other types of apples probably don’t require this.
Hi Peach,
I just saw this on Pinterest and to tell you the truth, I repinded because of the dish. I LOVE Apples!! Where did you get it?
the idea came to me because I love apple pie… the dip is very much like apple pie filling…..
I am definitely going to try this. I love apples and cinnamon.
