Ingredients
- FOR ICING:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup confectioners sugar
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 cup confectioners sugar
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1/4 teaspoon clear vanilla extract
- 2 about 2 tablespoons water
Preparation
Step 1
Cream butter and sugar together until well combined. Gradually add flour and salt until blended; stir in vanilla and almond extracts. Roll out dough between two sheets of plastic wrap, about 1/4" thick. Refrigerate until firm, 1 hour to overnight. Preheat oven to 325°. Cut dough in desired
shapes; place on nonstick baking sheet. Bake 10-12 minutes until lightly browned.
FOR ICING:
Beat sugar, oil and vanilla together, adding water to make easily spreadable consistency. Spread on cooled cookies and decorate as desired with Red Hots, nuts and dragee.
