Ingredients
- 1 C. Butter flavored Crisco
- 1 C. Milk
- 1 C. Sugar
- 4 eggs
- 2 t. salt
- 2 pkgs yeast
- 1/3 c. warm water
- 4 About 4 c. of King Arthur Bread Flour is best
Preparation
Step 1
Melt Crisco and Milk in microwave
Beat well sugar, eggs and salt.
In separate bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. (Add 1 tsp. sugar to this so it rises better)
Add yeast mixture to sugar mixture along with 2 c. flour. (I use bread flour). Add Crisco mixture when just warm along with 2 more cups of flour. Add more flour until dough is sticky. Put in refrigerator overnight or let rise until double.
Divide dough into thirds and roll out like a jelly roll. Spread dough with melted butter. If making crescants roll into crescent shape. If making cinnamon rolls, spread dough with a cinnamon/sugar mixture. I also add nuts and roll up like a jelly roll. Cut into 2 inch slices and put in pan cut side up.
Let raise about 1 hour in a warm place and then bake at 350 degrees until brown, about 15 minutes.
