Coca-racha chicken wings

By

ooey gooey sweet, tart and saucy! The secret is Mexican Coca-Cola because it is made with real cane sugar. American bottled coke is made with high fructose corn syrup! Ick The sauce just doesnt carmalize as well and tastes a little off! If you cant find Mexican Cola Cola, you can substitute any cola made with real cane sugar, Hansens makes one that works pretty well. Kino likes adding sriracha to the sauce so now they are Coca-racha wings!

Preparation

Step 1

In a large bowl, toss the wings with a big splash of soy sauce to coat. Heat a large skillet and swirl the peanut or sesame oil in pan. When the oil is hot, add the soy coated wings and stir for about 3 minutes to sear. Add chopped garlic and stir 1 minute. Add the 1/4 cup soy sauce and the bottle of coke. This part is fun, It will bubble up! Stir to combine. Add the brown sugar, sriracha and mustard. Stir. Keep the pan on medium heat and continue to stir while sauce thickens. Stir often until the wings are cooked through and the yummy, gooey goodness of the sauce coats them with a brown glaze of total awesomeness! This takes about 30 minutes or so. Dont let them burn. Keep stirring, its worth the effort! Garnish with a handful of chopped green onion and if you wish, kick up the heat with a few drops of your favorite hot sauce or chopped fresh serrano, jalepeno or habenero... if you dare! Serve with carrot stix and Sci-Fries to complete the decadent bliss.
