Ingredients
- Raisin bread
- 4 large eggs
- 1 C. milk
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- Butter or margarine
- Confectioner's Sugar
- Maple syrup
Preparation
Step 1
1. Set out slices of raisin bread.
2. In shallow dish or pie plate, beat the eggs, milk, and cinnamon. In large skillet, melt 1 T. butter. Dip bread slices, one at a time, into the egg mixture, turning to coat both sides. Cook slices, several at a time, in hot skillet until browned on both sides, adding more butter as needed.
3. Transfer the French toast to a baking sheet or tray. Keep warm in a low oven until all slices have been fried, then place on individual serving plates. Pass the confectioners' sugar in a shaker to sprinkle over the toast. Serve topped with butter and maple syrup.
