Ingredients
- Option:
- 4 oz. butter, melted
- 4 oz. sugar
- 1 egg, well beaten
- 6 oz. all purpose flour
- Pinch salt
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. saffron
- Drop sugar by 3/4 and replace with cheese and peppercorns
Preparation
Step 1
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
2. In a large mixing bowl, mix the butter with the sugar until it forms a light paste.
3. In a small cup, mix the saffron with a teaspoon of water then add it to the butter and sugar.
4. In another bowl, mix together the flour, salt and baking powder.
5. Add the flour to the butter mixture and mix well.
6. With floured hands, knead the paste until smooth then form into 24 balls. Plpace them on a prepared baking sheet. Bake for 25 minutes. Cool on wire racks.
