- 8 oz. chili sauce
- 2 oz. Bourbon
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp. butter
- 2 garlic cloves, chopped
- 1 large shallot, chopped
- 1 tbsp. ancho pepper finely chopped
- 3 oz. red hot sauce
- Canola oil
- Chicken wings, wing joint removed
- Blue Cheese Dressing
Preparation
Step 1
For Sauce:
In a large sauce pan, melt butter. Add shallot and garlic and sauté for 2-3 minutes. Stir in the bourbon, brown sugar and honey to heat through, 1 minute. Next add the ancho pepper, chili sauce, barbecue sauce, hot sauce and cook for 2 minutes. Keep warm until ready to serve:
Heat oil in a deep fryer. As you make the sauce, drop chicken wings in batches into the fryer. Fry until golden brown on both sides. Remove wings from oil and drain.
Add wings to a large mixing bowl and toss in sauce, coating each wing.
Serve with blue cheese dressing.
