Ancho Rubbed Flank Steak

Ingredients

  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ancho chile powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
  • Dash of freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 (1-pound) flank steak, trimmed
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil

Preparation

Step 1

1. Combine first 5 ingredients in a small bowl; rub evenly over both sides of steak.

2. Heat grill to medium high cook for about 6 minutes on either side.

3. Remove from grill let stand 5 minutes.

4. Cut steak diagnally across the grain into thin slices

Service with roasted potatoes and a simple salad
