Ingredients
- 2 tbsp. butter or margarine
- 1/2 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup long grain rice
- 1/2 tsp powdered saffron
Preparation
Step 1
Melt butter in a medium saucepan with a tight fitting lid. Add onion; cook until soft. Add the water and salt. Bring to a boil; stir in rice. Stir in saffron. Bring to a boil again, stir and cover. Simmer 15 minutes, then uncover and continue cooking until rice is tender and fluffy. Makes 6 servings.
