Split Pea Soup

Ingredients

  • 6 C. split peas (3bags)
  • 24 C. chicken broth
  • Ham bone
  • 3 C. chopped onion
  • 1 1/2 tsp. dried marjoram
  • 6 Bay leaves
  • 3 C. chopped carrot
  • 3 C. chopped celery

Preparation

Step 1

In large pot combine peas, broth, meat, marjoram, bay leaf and 1/2-1 tsp. pepper. Boil, cover and simmer 1 hour. Remove meat and cut off bone. Return to pot, stir in vegetables. Bring to boil and simmer 30 minutes until vegetables are tender.
