Ingredients
- 3 shallots, chopped
- 1 bay leaf
- 5 peppercorns
- 2 sprigs fresh thyme
- 2 c. white wine
- 3 c. chicken stock
- 1 1/2 tbsp. water
- 2 tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 cup milk
- Salt, pepper
Preparation
Step 1
Combine shallots, bay leaf,peppercorns, thyme and white wine in saucepan.Simmer until sauce is reduced to 1/2 cup. Add chicken stock and simmer 2 or 3 minutes more.
Mix together water and cornstarch. Stir into simmering liquid and cook several minutes or until thickened. Strain and return to saucepan. Stir in milk and heat. Season to taste with salt and black pepper.
