Lemon Dream Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 box 18.25 oz french vanilla cake mix, plus ingredients to make that box cake
  • 1 can(s) 15.75 oz lemon pie filling
  • 1 tub lemon flavored frosting
  • 1 tub, 8 oz whipped topping, thawed

Preparation

Step 1

1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray 9 x 13 pan with non-stick spray, I like using the kind with flour in the spray.

2 Prepare cake mix according to directions on the back of the box. Pour batter into cake pan.

3 Place spoonfuls of lemon filling all over cake batter.

4 Take a knife and swirl it all around to evenly distribute it evenly.

5 Note: the pie filling will be heavier than the cake batter and it will sink to the bottom as the cake bakes. Don't worry it will not burn.

6 Bake 35-40 minutes on the center rack until the cake is no longer jiggly and springs back to the touch.

7 Let cake cool before going to the next step.

8 In a bowl combine lemon flavored frosting and whipped topping until thoroughly combined. This can be done either by hand or with electric mixer.

9 Spread over the cooled cake. Refrigerate to chill and refrigerate and leftovers.
