Burek (or Mini Beef Pies)

Ingredients

  • Lots of crisco oil
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 diced onion
  • 4-5 lg mushroms (or a can)
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • Bit of salt and pepper
  • 3/4 tbsp paprika
  • 1 pkg Phillo Dough Sheets (frozen, safeway frozen foods has them)

Preparation

Step 1

Thaw Phillo sheets in pkg at room temperature. Not if fridge.
Fry veggies around 5 mins, brown the beef, add the spices, mix all toghether.

Fold and oil the Phillo sheets. Drizzle oil on full sheet, spread a bit by hand, fold sheet in half, drizzle again, fold in 1.2 again, etc till end. Then add about a tbsp of cooked beef, and fold into a triangle (fold line, cross over, line, cross over, till end). Place in baking dish.

Bake at 450 degrees for 5mins, then at 350 degrees for 30 mins.
