Tonkatsu Double Down

Ingredients

  • 4 pcs Pork steak cut
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 cup Bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup Flour
  • 1 pc Beaten egg
  • Oil for frying
  • 2 pcs Cheddar cheese singles
  • 4 pcs Cooked bacon
  • 2 tbsp Tonkatsu sauce (Bulldog)
  • 2 tbsp Japanese mayonnaise
  • 1/2 tsp Black sesame

Preparation

Step 1

Clean and pat dry pork steak.
Season with salt and pepper.
Arrange breading station: bowl 1 is flour, bowl 2 for egg and bowl 3 for breadcrumbs.
Dust pork with flour, dip in egg and coat with breadcrumbs.
Repeat step 4 for the other Tonkatsu.
Heat 1 inch oil in a pan.
When oil is ready for frying, fry Tonkatsu 3-5 minutes on each side depending on the thickness.
Drain in paper towels and set aside.


Assembly:

Lay down 1 piece of breaded pork steak
Add cheese, 1 tbsp of mayo (preferably Japanese Mayo) and top with bacon
Drizzle with 1 tbsp of tonkatsu sauce
Top with another piece of breaded pork steak.
Sprinkle with black sesame seeds and serve.


Note: You can also use teriyaki sauce if tonkatsu sauce is not available
