Ingredients
- 16 oz package of dried pinto beans
- 2 qts water
- 16 oz can chopped tomatoes undrained
- 4.5 oz can chopped green chilies
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 t cumin
- 8 oz jar taco sauce
- 1 large onion choppped
- 1 t salt
- 1/4 t black pepper
- rice if desired
Preparation
Step 1
In a large pot bring beans and water to a boil. Drain water off beans, then pour another 2 qts water in the pot and bring to another boil. Cover and reduce heat and simmer 2 hours or until tender.
Stir rest of ingredients into the beans and simmer uncovered another 1 1/2 hrs or until thickened. Serve over rice.
