Ingredients

  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 5 large eggs
  • 3 ripe bananas (can use more) make sure they are very, very ripe
  • 3 tbls milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp. baking powder

Preparation

Step 1

Beat shortening and butter at medium speed, about 2 minutes or until creamy. Gradually add sugar, beating 5 to 7 minutes. add eggs, one at a time, beating just until yellow disappears.
Combine masked bananas, milk and vanilla
Combine flour, salt and baking powder; add to shortening mixture alternately with banana mixture beginning and ending with flour mixture. Beat at low speed just until blended after each addition. Pour batter into a greased and floured 10" tube pan.

Bake 350 degrees for 1 hour and 20 minutes or until wooden pick comes out clean. Check after 1 hours.
