Turkey Apple Sloppy Joes

Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 1/3 pound ground turkey (1 package)
- salt and pepper
- 1/2 granny smith apple, chopped
- 8 oz tomato sauce
- 1 tablespoon worcestershire
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 scallions chopped
- 4 slices sharp cheddar cheese
- 4 whole wheat buns

Preparation
Step 1
Heat the olive oil in a large non-stick skillet. Add the ground turkey, season with salt and pepper and cook, breaking up the meat until it is cooked through.
Add the apples and continue cooking for 3-4 minutes.
Stir in the tomato sauce, worcestershire, brown sugar and scallions. Turn the heat down to medium low and simmer for 10 minutes.
Serve on whole wheat buns with a slice of sharp cheddar cheese.
