Red, White, and Blue Poke Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix + the ingredients on the back of the box.
  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup strawberry pie filling
  • 1 cup blueberry pie filling
  • 1 container (8 ounces) Cool Whip
  • strawberries (optional topping)
  • blueberries (optional topping)

Preparation

Step 1

Prepare the cake according to the directions on the box.
Once the cake is completely cooled, use a wooden spoon to poke holes evenly throughout the cake, making about 25-30 holes.
Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the cake, trying to fill up the holes.

Spread the strawberry pie filling on top of the cake, trying to get some in the holes. Then spread the blueberry pie filling on top of the strawberry pie filling. Then spread the Cool Whip on top.

Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight. When ready to serve if desired, make an American Flag on top of the cake using strawberries and blueberries. This makes about 12 large pieces.
