Southern-style Braised Collard Greens

Collard greens are full of flavor and have a delicate texture. Choose collards that are deep green, free of wilted or yellow leaves.
When cooked, collards greatly reduce in volume, so make sure you prepare enough to meet your needs.

Ingredients
- 32 OZ bag shredded collard greens
- 48 oz box reduced-sodium chicken broth
- 1 ham hock (about 6 oz)
- 2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 2 Tbsp kosher salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1 medium sweet onion, sliced, optional
- 1 cup (about 10 oz) diced cooked ham, optional
Preparation
Step 1
1. Combine all ingredients in a large stockpot with lid; cover.
2. Bring to boil over medium heat. Reduce to low & simmer 25-30 minutes or until greens are tender. Serve.
