Ingredients
- 1 quart fresh strawberries, washed, hulled, and quartered
- 3 cups sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Preparation
Step 1
In a large saucepan, bring all ingredients to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Reduce heat to low and simmer 10 to 12 minutes, or until strawberries have cooked down and mixture has thickened, stirring frequently.
Remove from heat and allow to cool completely. Store in an airtight container and chill for at least 4 hours before serving.
Makes about 3 cups preserves.
