Preparation

Step 1

In a large bowl combine:
1 lb. lean ground beef
1/2 lb. sausage
1-2 eggs
1 box of Stove Top Dressing
Optional: salt, pepper and parsley

On the stove combine:
1 stick of butter (8 Tbsp)
3 lg. stocks of celery (finely chopped)
1 lg. onion (minced)
Cook until onion and celery are sauteed.
Then add:
1 can chicken stock
1/4 cup milk
Set aside and let cool (typically 30-40 min). You don't want the warm combination to cook the eggs when combined all together.

After the celery, onion, and butter combination is cool to the touch, pour over meat mixture and mix well. You may want to add a cup at a time since you may not need all the mixture.

After meat and liquid is mixed well, you can start stuffing the turkey. Don't forget to removed the neck and other goodies inside.

If you don't wish to stuff the turkey, place mixture in a casserole dish adequate to size. Set oven to to 425 degrees for 1 hr. Uncover to brown for 15 min. I came about doing stuffing this way since we started deep frying our turkey's. I bake my stuffing as if I were baking my meatloaf.

**Also, wash out the inside of the turkey and place in sink the night before. Follow all directions accordingly for thawing out.
