Ingredients
- 3 tomatoes, finely chopped
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon lime or lemon juice
- 1 jalapeno pepper, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped parsley
- 1 garlic clove, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
- 1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
- Dash of hot pepper sauce
Preparation
Step 1
Combine all the ingredients in a medium-sized bowl; mix well.
Cover and chill for at least 2 hours to blend the flavors.
Serve at room temperature.
Makes about 4 cups.
Notes:
If you'd like a thicker salsa, strain the mixture before serving.
