Ingredients
- Butter: about 4 tablespoons
- 1/2 cup thin sliced onions
- 1/2 cup thin sliced fennel
- 4 cups peeled and sliced thick turnips
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 1/4 teaspoon grated nutmeg
- 3/4 cup grated cheese, Parmesan or swiss
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350* Grease 1 quart dish
Melt butter over medium heat. Saute onions a couple of minutes.
Layer the turnips, sprinkle with half the onions, fennel and a little cheese, and the repeat until all done. Pour cream over the dish and top with cheese. Bake for 1 hour.
