Ingredients
- 3/4 c. shortening
- 1/4 c. molasses
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 t. soda
- 2 c. flour
- 1/2 t cloves
- 1/2 t. ginger
- 1 t. cinnamon
- 1/2 t. salt

Preparation
Step 1
Melt shortening. Let cool a few minutes. Mix molasses in well. Add sugar and egg. Mix in dry ingredients.
Roll in balls about 1 inch or a little larger. Roll in sugar. Bake in 375 oven 8-10 minutes. Don't over bake them or
they will get hard. If they start to get hard once done put a slice of bread in with them.
