Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour (4 1/2 C)
- 1 tsp baking soda (2 tsp)
- 1 tsp salt (2 tsp)
- 2 sticks sweet butter (4 sticks)
- 1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar (2 C)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (1 C)
- 2 large eggs (4)
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract (2 tsp)
- milk chocolate chips
Preparation
Step 1
Combine flour, salt and baking soda in a bowl and sift together with a fork.
Combine both sugars and melted butter in a bowl and mix until smooth, then add eggs and vanilla. Add flour mixture to sugar/butter mixture and incorporate. Add chips at this point and mix together.
Put in refrigerator for atleast 1/2 hour up to 6 hours. Remove from refrigerator and let soften a bit while preheating oven to 350 degrees for teaspoon size cookies and 375 degrees for tablespoon size cookies. (I use an actual teaspoon measure to scoop up the dough)
Variation: Ingredients in parenthesis are for DOUBLE the recipe
Add chocolate chips at the point when the cookie is being made to incorporate more, less or no chips as desired.
