Country Fried Steak

Ingredients

  • About a pound of round steaks
  • 1/2 cup of four
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 egg beaten with 2 tablespoons millk
  • Oil for frying (about 1 cup)
  • Country Gravy

Preparation

Step 1

1. Place the meat between two sheets of waxed paper and smack it a few times with a mallet to tenderize it.
2. In a shallow bowl place the flour & season it with some salt and pepper.
3. In another shallow bowl, beat the egg and milk.
4. Dredge the meat in the flour, shake off excess.
5. Dip the floured meat in the egg mixture, let excess drip off.
6. Dredge the meat again in the flour, shake off the excess.
7. Heat the oil in a heavy skillet. (350 degrees F)
8. Cook the meat for about 4 minutes or until golden brown, turning once.
9. Drain on paper towels.
