Tender, Crisp Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

• 1/2 cup butter
• 1/2 cup shortening
• 1/2 cup sugar
• 1/2 cup powdered sugar
• 1 1/2 tsps. vanilla
• 1 egg
• 2 1/4 cups flour
• 1/2 tsp. soda
• 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
• 1/2 tsp. salt

Preparation

Step 1

Cream butter and shortening. Add sugars and cream until smooth. Add vanilla and egg and mix until combined. Combine flour, baking soda, cream of tartar and salt. Gradually add to butter mixture until all is combined. Make into 1 inch balls. Roll in sugar, put 2 inches apart on baking sheet and flatten slightly with bottom of glass. Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes
