Cherry Cheese Danish

Every year on Christmas morning we have this for breakfast. It's so good with cappucino or hot chocolate for the kids.

Ingredients

  • 2 pkgs cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • l large egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 tubes of crescent rolls
  • 1 can cherry pie filling

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven 350*

Lightly butter a jelly roll pan

Mix cream cheese, sugar, egg and vanilla until smooth. Roll out dough and press into pan. WARM IN OVEN FOR ABOUT 4 MINUTES TO SET THE BOTTOM. Spread sheese mixture over dough. Scatter cherries evenly over cheese. Separate remaining 8 triangles on top of cherries. Brush with egg wash. Bake 30 minutes. Dust with powdered sugar.
