Family favorite! But, put aside some time for prep! I always double (or even triple) this recipe. Great leftovers! :)

Ingredients
- Thickening Ingredient:
- 1/4 Cup Butter
- 1/4 Cup Shortening
- 3/4 lb. Diced Meat (Pork or Chicken)
- 1 Cup Onion, diced small
- 1 Cup Celery, diced small
- 1 tsp. Salt
- 1/8 tsp. Pepper
- 1 Cup Hot Water
- 1 tsp. Sugar
- 2 tsp. Soy Sauce
- 1/3 Cup Water
- 2 Tbsp. Cornstarch

Preparation
Step 1
Sauteé meat in combined butter and shortening for approximately 8 minutes. Add onion and fry approximately 5 minutes. Add celery, salt, pepper and hot water. Cover and Cook for 5 minutes. Add thickening ingredient and soy sauce. Serve over rice with chow mein noodles.
