  • 6 slices of bacon
  • 1/2 medium onion, diced
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 cup half and half
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 pre-made pie crust



Step 1

Preheat oven to 400F.

Bake pie crust in oven for 8 minutes.

Lower oven to 375F.

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crisp. Remove from pan and drain on paper towels. In same skillet, add onion and mushrooms and cook until onions are translucent and the mushrooms are browned.

In a large bowl, mix together the eggs, half and half, thyme, salt, pepper and nutmeg. Stir in the cheese, bacon and mushroom mixture.

Pour the filling into the pie crust. Bake until the quiche has set, about 30 to 35 minutes.
