Great for savory pies, turnovers, tarts, etc.
This recipe makes one 8 inch crust.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- Extra flour for dusting
- Pinch of salt
- 6 tablespoons butter
- 2-3 tablespoons water
- Grease of choice for baking dish (oil, butter, etc)
Preparation
Step 1
Mix flour and salt together in a bowl. Rub in butter and add water to and mix to form a soft dough. Wrap in plastic and let chill for 30 minutes.
Grease an 8-inch tart pan. Roll out dough on floured surface to 8-inch circle. Line tart pan with dough and prick with a fork. Cover and let chill for 30 minutes.
Line the pie shell with foil and fill with baking bean (or dried beans or other baking weight). Bake in oven preheated to 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until golden. Remove from oven, discard baking weight, return to oven for another 10 minutes.
Remove from oven, fill and cook as desired.
