Ingredients

  • 3/4 lb ground chuck
  • 3/4 pound ground hot pork sausage
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 jars spaghetti sauce
  • 1 8 oz pkg manicotti shells
  • 1 8 oz pkg cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 8 oz container cream cheese with garlic and herb
  • 4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 16 oz carton ricotta cheese
  • 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large clove garlic, crushed
  • 3/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano

Preparation

Step 1

Cook ground chuck, hot pork sausage and large onion over medium heat. Stirring until meat browns and crumbles; drain well. Add spaghetti sauce and bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat and simmer 1 hour stirring occasionally.

Cook manicotti shells according to the package directions; drain and let cool to touch.

Beat cream cheeses in a large bowl at medium speed with an electric mixer until smooth. Add mozzarella cheese, ricotta cheese, Parmesan, garlic, pepper and dried oregano. Stir well and stuff mixture evenly into cooked shells.

Spoon half of the sauce evenly into 2 greased 9x13 pans. Arrange stuffed shells over sauce. Spoon remaining sauce over shells.

Bake 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes before serving
