Bacon and Cheese Grits

  • 1-1/2 cups uncooked grits
  • 3 cups grated Cheddar cheese
  • 3 large eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 tsp. ground red pepper, or to taste
  • 5 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled, divided
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Cook grits according to directions. Remove from heat. Add 2 cups cheese, eggs, milk, red pepper and 3 slices of crumbled bacon. Pour into a buttered 3 quart baking dish. Top with remaining cheese and crumbled bacon. Bake for 20 minutes.
