- 8-10 cups cubed day old bread
- 1 cup raisins
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 4 T., melted and cooled butter
- 4 cups 1/2 and 1/2 milk or combination of
Preparation
Step 1
300*..lightly butter or spray 9x13 baking dish and place in larger roasting pan with room to add water.
put in bread cubes and rainsins
in mixer beat eggs and sugar til thick and lemon colore. 4-5 minutes or when beater is raised the batter falls into bowl in slow ribbon.. beat in vanilla and cinnamon.
carefully add milk..
caredfully pour the prepared custard over bread cubes until completely covered.. press down so all are covered with custard.
prepare a water bath< boiling water>.carefully pour water around baking dish until half way up.
bake 1 hour or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
or until gently press down.. if any custard comes up to top, the pudding should be baked a little longer.
remove from water bath and cool slightly before serving.
