Apple Crisp

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup+ 2Tbsp flour
  • 1/2 cup quick-cooking oats
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • pinch salt
  • 3 Tbsp light stick butter, diced
  • 1 tsp water
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • pinch ground cloves
  • 3 lb golden delicious or jonathan apples, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

1)Preheat oven to 375. Spray shallow 1 1/2 qt baking dish.
2) Combine 1/2 cup flour, oats, brown sugar, ginger, cinnamon, and salt in medium bowl. With pastry blender or 2 knives cut in butter until mix resembles coarse crumbs. Add water and firmly press mix to form clumps
3) Mix sugar, 2 Tbsp flour, nutmeg, and cloves in large bowl. Add applex and vanilla, mix well. Transfer to baking dish. Sprinkle topping over the filling. Bake until filling is bubbling and topping is golden, 55-60 min.
