Gravy (Old-Fashioned White)

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces butter (sweet butter is best)
  • 1 heaping teaspoon flour
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 6 tablespoons water

Preparation

Step 1

Place the butter, flour and milk in a sauce pan. Over a medium heat, allow the butter to melt; mix well. Add the water. Continue to stir as the gravy begins to simmer. Bring to a boil. The ending consistency should be the thickness of a good cream.
