Soup Toppers

Ingredients

  • 4 slices crusty bread
  • 2 cloves garlic (optional)
  • Extra-virgin olive oil
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1/2 pound shredded cheese (to compliment the soup)

Preparation

Step 1

Toast bread slices in toaster until golden. Rub with crushed garlic (if desired). Arrange bread on cookie or baking sheet. Drizzle each piece with extra-virgin olive oil and top with black pepper and shredded cheese. Place under hot broiler to melt cheese until toppers are golden brown.
