GUMDROP LOAF

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter/hard margarine, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 lb baking bums or regular gumdrops (no black) chopped
  • 1 cup raisins

Preparation

Step 1

Cream butter and sugar together well. Beat in eggs, 1 at a time. Add vanilla.

Sift flour, baking powder and salt together in separate bowl.

Add milk in 2 parts alternately with flour mixture in 3 parts, beginning and ending with flour.

Stir in gumdrops and raisins. Turn into greased 9x5 inch pan. Bake in 300 oven for about 2 hours until an inserted toothpick comes out clean. Let stand 20 minutes before removing to rack. Cool and wrap with plastic.
