Ingredients
- Frosting:
- 1 (18.25-oz) box devil's food cake mix
- 1 (21-oz) can cherry pie filling
- 1 tsp almond extract
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup milk
- 5 Tbsp margarine or butter
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour a 10 x 15-inch or 9 x 13-inch baking pan. In a large bowl, combine cake mix, pie filling, extract and eggs; stir until well-blended. Pur into prepared pan. For a 10 x 15-inch pan, bake 20-30 minutes; for a 9 x 13-inch pan, bake 25-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Frosting: In a small saucepan, combine sugar, milk and margarine. Bring to a boil. boil 1 minute, stirrring constantly. Remove from heat; stir in chocolate chips until smooth. Spread over warm bars. Cool completely. Cut into bars.
