Ingredients

  • 2 lbs beef tenderloin or sirloin steak
  • 2 cans condensed beef broth
  • 1/4 c catsup
  • 1/4 c flour
  • 8-10 oz uncooked med noodles
  • 1/4 c butter
  • 6 oz can sliced mushrooms, drained
  • 1/4 c onion
  • 1 1/2 t garlic salt
  • 2 c sour cream
  • 3 T butter

Preparation

Step 1

Cut meat across grain into 1/2 in slices, then into strips 3x1/4 in. Melt 1/4 c butter in lg skillet. Cook and stir mushrooms in butter about 5 min. Remove mushrooms. Brown meat in same skillet. Reserve 2/3 c broth, stir in remaining broth, onion, catsup and garlic salt. Cover and simmer 15 min. Blend reserved broth and flour. Stir into meat. Add mushrooms, bring to boil, stirring constantly. Boil and stir 1 min. Stir in sour cream. Heat thru. Cook noodles as directed. Drain. Toss with 3 T butter. Serve with stroganoff.
